Let’s explain this; just the same way your baking dough rises in the presence of yeast and a moist environment, same way vagina yeast multiplies when there’s no air getting in their, poor vagina hygiene or other unhealthy environment.

CAUSES
Many people think only ladies who are sexually active can have a vagina yeast infection but that’s not true.

As long as you are a lady and you have got a vagina then you are prone to experience this.

1. Use of vagina deodorants: girl!! why on earth will you use a deodorant down there? Using a vanilla or strawberry perfume isn’t gonna make your blood or discharge smell any better, so why the harm? It’s only gonna change your pH, and believe me, you can’t deal with that.

2. Douching: if you must wash with soap, you are expected to wash only your pereanal and vulva area with a mild toilet soap and not your vagina. This is because the vagina is self cleansing.

3. Use of scented wipes and antiseptics.

4. Abuse of antibiotics: do you know what happens when you abuse antibiotics? It kills the healthy bacteria known as normal flora. Instead take probiotics, they can be found in yoghurt, sour and fermented foods.

5. Low immune system: girl!! you wouldn’t want to be grabbing every illness so take your vitamins everyday.

6. Unhealthy sexual habits, e.t.c.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS.
1. Itching around the vulva and pereanal.

2. Odorless cheesy like discharge.

3. Soreness of the vulva.

4. Pain or burning while urinating.

5. Pain during sex.

TREATMENT OPTIONS.
1. For uncomplicated vagina yeast infection: which is the most common. You can get an over the counter medication. Clotrimazole vagina tablets or suppository, oral antifungal and ketoconazole cream to stop the itching around the pereanal and you will be fine.

2. Complicated vagina yeast infection: this is not so common. But, if symptoms persist after 2 weeks of taking an over the counter medication, visit the hospital for proper laboratory investigation.
